Hi, I'd like to know if it would be possible to code an SBOS that doesn't
use the FM samples or something, but transelates FM to MIDI in realtime,
so instead of FM, there will be GUS patches to be used ... ?

Bwah. From LISTENING to FM sound, it can be difficult for a
HUMAN to tell what instrument the composer intended it to sound like. I
don't think you'll be able to get a program small enough to be a TSR to
figure it out just from the couple parameters it gives you.. Also, a lot
of the sounds of FM do not overlap with the GM patch set.
